HERE’S TO THE KIDS (by A.J. Poquette)
YouTube.

Hey. So if anyone is interested, my friend and I have made a YouTube channel. Http://www.YouTube.com/user/lipsticklightsabers

There are going to be makeup videos very soon. :]

JSYK, Clean & Clear does test on animals. Not sure about Proactiv, but just letting you know for future reference.
Also, where'd you get the icon?

Ugh. I hate thiiiiiiis. Someone told me MAC may start testing. o.o I all but died.

I just Google Image searched ‘makeup’.

o.o I should’ve probably checked if it was copyrighted or anything.

My new skincare routine.

(I accidentally hit publish, so there may be a post that just says “My”. Disregard it.)

I have recently been breaking out a lot lately. It could be because I keep touching my face due to allergies, it could be the fact that I was always too tired to wash my face regularly, or it could be due to the fact that I haven’t been eating too healthy in the past two or so months.

Whatever it is, I was tired of having a layer of concealer all over my face, because it just wear off by the end of the day.

So I realized what I needed to do.
I’m now on one of my health food kicks, which I hope to stay on over the summer.
And I’ve changed my skincare routine.

I’ve paired an exfoliator with a toner/astrigent with a spot treatment with a gentle lotion.

I exfoliate with either my Neutrogena Wave Duo or #1 in the Proactiv system. Exfoliators buff away dead skin cells and ultimately soften your face. Your dead skin, which is the surface skin, holds many toxins that your pores have taken in throughout the day.

The toner I use is also alternating—I switch between Proactiv’s #2 or Clean & Clear astrigent. These are VERY important in the morning. Put on a toner before you put on your makeup, because now that your pores are cleaned out, this closes them up. Closed pores are very important throughout the day, because then less toxins and chemicals and dirt ans oil can get in. The less you absorb, the less acne you’ll get.

For a spot treatment I use the Proactiv refining mask. I use this every single day if I have a blemish, until that blemish is gone. And slowly but surely, it is erased. Spot treatments suck all oil and moisture from the applied area, so only put it on the blemish and in the very close surrounding area; if you have dry skin, this may be difficult for you. My advice is to either moisturise before this OR find a gentle one/one for dry skinned people.

Last is the moisturizer. I use Hope in a Jar by Philosophy. Their skincare products are fantastic [my mother is a Philosophy junkie and owns one of nearly everything Philosophy] and they’re made with the consumer, not the industry in mind. I typically use the regular HiaJ at night and the SPF one in the morning. Stay away from the SPF one if you have oily or sensitive skin, because its consistency is basically if you put olive oil on cottage cheese. O.o So if you have sensitive or oily skin and are interested in this product, definitely avoid the one with the little sun on it. The regular HiaJ is just like a semithick lotion.

And my last word of advice; DRINK WATER. Water is so good for your skin. Reach for water rather than your regular soda or lemonade. It’s far better for you, and will help clear up your skin.

I do not know if some of these products are tested on animals, and I did not buy them knowing so. Please check on http://www.caringconsumer.com before purchase.

Awesome lotion for the summer.

Earlier today, I was staring at my mosquito bites and wondering what I could do to hide them. I definitely didn’t want to put concealer or foundation on every single one of them.
Then I began watching some YouTube beauty videos, when a girl mentioned blemish-blurring shimmer foundation.
After thinking about that, I applied the concepts to my mosquito bite issue.
The solution? Shimmer body lotion.

This will reflect the sunlight, making your skin look flawless and beautiful. It will also hide a bit of redness or skin problems.

The one I’m using is Philosophy’s Cinnamon Buns. It smells like fresh cinnamon icing, shimmers perfectly, and stays on all day.

Just a little quick-tip for you all. :]

MAC Fluidline

MAC FluidlineMAC FluidlineI recently got the MAC Fluidline gel eyeliner in Blitz &Glitz. Let me start off with the fact that I have very watery and oily eyes and I wear my eyeliner on my waterline; this is the only eyeliner I’ve found that stays on the waterline for more than an hour or so AND doesn’t smudge and crease in the wrinkles under my eyes. [I can’t sleep, okay. xD]. I found that you need to go vertically as opposed to horizontally; aka apply it in short strokes going from the inner edge of your waterline closest to your eye, to the lashline. This makes the colour show up much better. I am in love with this liner. It’s $15, and it seems that there isn’t much in the jar, but there is. Ve hardly used any and I bought this at the beginning of May. And used it every day since. Don’t get me wrong; your waterline will not stay black all day. It will fade to a grayish colour, but it is still visibly there with no smudges after approximately 14 hours. [the longest I went without washing it off, that i’d checked.] I was incredibly skeptical when purchasing, but I’m definitely buying this liner again. :]

Makeup-Free Mondays

There seems to be a new, up-and-coming concept in the beauty world—no makeup on Monday. I’m not 100% sure about all of the details, but as far as I am aware, it’s simply a day for every makeup-wearer to embrace their natural beauty and go bare! Sounds like a really nice idea. I’m probably participating. Although I will most likely cheat and wear a bit of concealer and tinted moisturiser and curl my lashes. What are your opinions on this? Countessa Flourescent REVIEW

Lime Crime Lipstick in Countessa FlourescentLime Crime lipstick in Countessa FlourescentName: Countessa Flourescent opaque lipstick Brand: Lime Crime Price: $16 Link: http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/countessa-fluorescent-opaque-lipstick-p-232.html   Description: “Clean, bright neon pink for that perfect Barbie pout!”   What it’s supposed to do: “In typical Lime Crime fashion, this lippy is bursting with pigment for criminally bright, opaque results! Smooth, creamy formula is long-wearing but won’t dry out your lips. Luscious low-sheen finish can be worn alone or played up with clear gloss. Each lipstick comes in a bright purple tube adorned with a holographic unicorn - the ultimate accessory! Lime Crime lipsticks are not tested on animals and PETA-certified cruelty-free.”   Rating: ***** [5 stars!]   How I use it: I wear it every day/every other day, and I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on it. I have mad pale skin, pretty much the tone of Xenia’s, who is the creater of Lime Crime. I really like it; I wear it plain most days, but then some days I just put a few dabs on over a balm for a tint, or occasionally put a clear gloss over it, making it look amazing.   Pros: Highly pigmented, wears for the whole day, is super vibrant after 4-5 hours, grabs attention, smells really good, can be worn every day or on an occasion.   Cons: Fairly expensive [It came out to $17.50 or something in the store], smudges fairly easily.   Overall: Highly recommended. I love it sososososo much.   Where to buy: SpaceNK. apothecary [Where I got mine] But only in NYC, London, or San Fransisco. Urban Outfitters stores in Canada and some in the US. And on the LCM site, of course! // :] Enjoy.
